Abstract

 The article explores the features and trends in the organization of environmental education on the basis of a higher educational institution. The purpose of the work is to form a mechanism for the introduction of modern approaches to the implementation of environmental education by means of tourism (on the example of the VSUES arboretum). The methodological basis of the work was made up of such methods of scien tific knowledge as comparison, induction and deduction, methods of actualization, system analysis, classifi-cation, abstraction and concretization. Statistical data, articles and data from the Internet, bases of legal documentation were used as information sources. In the course of work the concept, essence, technologiesfor the implementation of environmental education are studied; systematized are the components of tourismactivities in environmental education; revealed are the features of virtual excursions as a tool for the implementation of environmental education; analyzed are the current approaches to the implementation of environmental education at VSUES; estimated is the role of the VSUES arboretum in the implementation of environmental education. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the systematization of approaches to the study of the phenomenon of the implementation of environmental education by means of tourism. The practical part of the work lies in the forma-tion of a mechanism for developing a virtual excursion as a modern approach to the implementa-tion of environmental education by means of tourism (on the example of the VSUES arboretum).
